Chatham County Public School System
Savannah-Chatham Public Schools serve over thirty-five thousand students ranging from pre-K to 12th grade on their forty-nine campuses and also operate numerous satellite facilities, alternative education programs, and historic sites. The system abides by the rules set by Georgia’s Department of Education and follows policy enacted by an elected Board of Public Education. Board Presidents serve four-year terms and are supported by an eight member board representing various districts within the Chatham County Commission.
A Superintendent of Schools is elected by the board and charged with the responsibility of implementing and enforcing scholastic policy as well as overall administration.

Oglethorpe Charter School
In addition to its excellent public school system, Chatham County also supports OCS Middle, a premier charter institution with a student body of roughly four-hundred students recently selected by the U.S. Department of Education as one of eight exemplary charter schools in the nation. OCS is devoted to achievement, excellence, and academics.
